Defend Your Right to Chiropractic Coverage in Rhode Island! RI House Bill #6124/Senate Bill #789
The 2017 Chiropractic Bill is NOW in the legislature. Immediate action is required to support House H 6124 and Senate S 789. Please protect your coverage for chiropractic care by advocating for the passage of these important bills.
In 1987, Rhode Island passed legislation to end the practice of discriminating against patients who choose chiropractic care over more invasive medical treatments. Unfortunately, actions taken by the RI State Insurance Commissioner have left this law unenforced and chiropractic care arbitrarily restricted.
House Bill H 6124 would make chiropractic care more accessible for Rhode Islanders and would allow health plans to evaluate reimbursement for chiropractic care on a medical necessity basis.
Please urge your legislators to support this bill. Increased accessibility to chiropractic treatment would give those who need pain management a meaningful choice and make chiropractic care an effective health plan benefit.
